About the Kenya Skills Hub
About the Skills Hub
The Kenya Skills Hub was established in September 2023 by the State Department for Labour and Skills Development in collaboration with stakeholders. The establishment of the hub was based on a resolution made by the stakeholders during the World Youth Skills Day held on 15th July 2023. Driving this focus was the increased demand by stakeholders for well-coordinated and harmonized dissemination of information towards enhancing youth employability and productivity.
The Kenya Skills Hub is, therefore, a One-Stop Virtual Hub aimed at providing the youth, including unemployed youth, with access to relevant information on skills development, work-based learning, entrepreneurship, career guidance and employment opportunities in an efficient manner. This information is sourced from across the Ministries, Counties, Departments and Agencies (MCDAs) and the private sector. In addition, an online community forum has been provided to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and discussion on issues related to skills development, career development and employability.
The objectives of developing the Kenya Skills Hub are three-fold: -
- To provide a range of skills development opportunities and services in one virtual location to ease access for the youth seeking these resources.
- To provide a platform for Ministries, Counties, Departments and Agencies (MCDAs) and the private sector to share information on skills development opportunities for the youth.
- To promote linkages, partnerships and collaborations among peers, partners and industry players for promotion of youth employability and productivity.
